I value anyone who works in the medical field, however, nurses become part of any family while they seek to care for a loved one... Covid patients care took so much out of doctors and nurses; however, I believe our nurses felt the pain of every patient and family forced to witness the demise of their loved ones... They are tired in some cases but continue to show love and care to all involved ... They hold back tears when they can do no more and I have personally seen some frustrated with how many hospitals and administration put them on the front lines to deal with the public when mishaps occur... I have love and respect for every nurse that has to endure this pain... Nurse's motto: 'Every day is one more accomplishment'... and when this doesn't happen many feel guilty... It's not fair to have hospitals make so much money and not pay these professionals what they deserve... The executives make the most and leave our nurses to fend for themselves with little or no supplies, and their pay is so low considering they are the people closest to the patient and the patient's family... Who comes to their aid when they are hurting, tired, and frustrated... Shouldn't their pay reflect what they do? We as a nation should compensate them for a job well done and help force these hospitals to treat and pay them what they are worth... Thank you, Nora, for again bringing these issues to the front line so that we as a people can see the disparity these nurses face... We must rebuild because of covid, so let's bring our nurses into the fold and pay them what they are worth!!!... We are ONE!!

this is really excellent, clear and totally maddening. not only the danger to patients but the inevitable wearing out of nurses' spirits. i spoke today to the only cashier open in stop and shop, she said, of course they want everyone to use the machines so they can get rid of us. it's everywhere, it's capitalism working the way it's supposed to, and it's maddening. it sounds like they're getting a lot of support, i hope they can hold out. but it being a chain means mighty forces brought against them as we saw with amazon.
